Young Lee, media ministry team leader of Bethany Presbyterian Church told us about a lady who was very successful in life, according to the world’s standards. She was very wealthy and had a good job. She didn’t believe in God. She didn’t care about God because she had money and thought she was happy. But then she got cancer. She couldn’t work and was spending a lot of her money on hospital and insurance bills.
One day, she picked up a CD at a local grocery store. The message was about Jonah and how he had been caught up by a whale because he wasn’t following what God said. God was telling Jonah “Follow me,” but Jonah didn’t listen.
Well, the lady listened to that message and she started crying because she knew God had given her that message. Because of her cancer, she was able to understand how great God’s love was. It wasn’t that God didn’t want to help her, but He wanted her to know His love. Today she is cancer free and is able to work again. And because of that message, she knows that there isn’t anything that anyone can do apart from God. |
