Wake-Up
Begin the day with the Lord. It is His day. Rejoice in it.

Dress-Up
Put on a smile. It improves your looks. It says something about your attitude.
Shut-Up
Watch your tongue. Don't gossip. Say nice things. Learn to listen.
Stand-Up
Take a stand for what you believe. Resist evil. Do good..

Look-Up
Open your eyes to the Lord. After all, He is your only Saviour.
Reach-Up
Spend time in prayer with your adorations, confessions, thanksgivings and supplications to the Lord.

Lift-Up
Be available to help those in need -- serving, supporting and sharing.

When Our Plans Change

So often I make plans with expectations of how everything will turn out, but I can't be too surprised when things turn out quite differently than I had expected. After all, Proverbs 16:9 reminds us, "In your heart you plan your life. But the Lord decides where your steps will take you."

When I ordered several copies of In Search of the Perfect Christmas from LifeLight Ministries with the intention of handing them out with an invitation to our Christmas program, I did so without the certainty that it would actually happen. Well, that plan failed due to poor timing, but there were other opportunities to distribute these colourful little booklets.

Our church took a program to a neighbouring community, and the booklets were well received by the people there. In fact, they wanted extra copies to give to family members.

A lady in our church included one in a gift to neighbours. We also handed some out when we went carolling and found everyone very receptive of this little gift.

Thank you, LifeLight Ministries, for supplying us with such a handy little tool.

Whatever our gifts, education or vocation might be, our calling is to do God's work on earth.

Have a Blessed Vacation!

This is the time of year when many of us head South. Winter has finally arrived on the Prairies, and many are anticipating a warm respite from the cold.

Many also find that this is a good time to give away God's Word. Brian and Kathy travelled to Cuba last year. They had many plans for a wonderful vacation, but they also packed a number of Spanish New Testaments (available from LifeLight at $1.25. each). An already great vacation was made even more special as they gave away the Testaments and shared their faith. The Buhler family enjoyed a vacation in Cuba this winter. They also took along a number of Spanish NTs for distribution.

Many others have come back blessed not only by the warm weather but also by the joy that comes from sharing one's faith. Recently we received a letter from a young man in the Dominican Republic who had received one of our Scriptures. What a joy to read about the difference this simple, inexpensive gift made to him!

If you are travelling this year, why not accept our challenge to make it a journey of both faith and fellowship! Why not pack some Bibles to bring light to those living in darkness!
